South East here and I've almost given up emptying the rain gauge. I don't take readings as all I want is to get an idea of how much rain we have had so I can gauge how far our river could come up but have been emptying half an inch to and inch of water out of it almost every day this month.

The geography has to be partly to blame. The southwest takes the brunt of Atlantic weather systems for one thing and, if my 1st year geography lessons are to be believed, all those mountains create numerous rain shadows as well. I've been in the west of country many times during the colder months and never once did I think upon arrival, "Well, it's definitely not going to rain today!".

It could be much, much worse. Scotland, for example.

We have it pretty tame by comparison.

Even for Dublin it's bad. Last year it rained bad enough in the morning for me to take the car four times in the whole school year. I had to do it four times this month!!!!

It always rains in Ireland-all year round not just in November.It's part of being on a small island in the Atlantic.Suprisngly our neighbouring islands don't do any better.no need to get too depressed over it.The Greens are not meteorologigal experts-they have an agenda to stick to,that's why they call themselves such terms.I assume GNR means GRN?

80 percent of my work is weather dependent, I've fcuk all done in the last 3 or 4 weeks with rain but this week seems to be alright so should get a few bits tidied up before the Xmas, I'd a small bit of inside work that kept me going but nothing worth talking about, worst few weeks that I can remember in a long time

I am from the west coast originally but living in Dublin years. It makes me laugh when I hear the Dubs complain about rain. The weather is noticeably better on the East coast, totally tropical, you would need a can of Lilt.

I tell people my childhood was like the film Angela's Ashes, not the grinding poverty, the constant rain.

As an amateur meteorologist this is the wettest November since 2000 in plenty of weather stations nationwide, here's hoping December will be mostly dry

I'm pretty sure 2019/20 Nov/Dec/Jan was wetter than this year. Just pre-covid and I think I had 2 or 3 dry spins on the bike to or from work back then and some pretty bad potholes opening up as a result of all the rain. That said we had that lovely spell of weather then from February to May/June 2020 and first lock down so I'm willing to suck it up now if it means the same good spell next year.

I put a feed on mine late summer and with the rain and mild temperatures it's grown like mad. I decided to tackle it today and got a decent cut in to get it under control. Wasn't as wet as I expected. The heavens opened this evening. Glad I didn't put off until tomorrow.

Hopefully a decent reasonably dry week ahead and I will take in down a bit lower which should see me sorted for awhile.

Same. From east coast, living in Limerick. I used to laugh when people said "the sunny south east", but compared the rainy wet grey midwest, it certainly is.
