The National Parks & Wildlife Service appeals to all hunters not to hunt over the coming days in order to allow wild birds time to re-fuel and to recover from the cold snap. A temporary voluntary ban has been agreed with NARGC and ICSA. NPWS will continue to monitor weather data from Met Eireann.

As if nature itself doesn't equip all wild animals and birds with energy and fat reserves and survival instincts to survive and cope with Winter. 🙄 It why critters stuff themselves with food from Mid summer onwards to be able to survive Winters.

FFS!! its not minus 40 out there like in Siberia. This is normal Winter weather.

Every time the mercury drops below zero in Ireland in the single figures for 3 days we have this shower cutting off days on our already too-short hunting seasons with cold weather hunting bans.Voluntary or not. NARGC and others should NOT be agreeing to this sort of nonsense.
