We have had Virgin broadband for years (dublin suburbs), but it seems like in the last ~6months the amount of dropouts has increased, to the point Ive started switching to my phone hotspot at times. Not sure if its the signal coming into the house or the wifi? if you got an upgrade is there any new kit?

Does it drop for 90-120s and come back? Likely the flawed chipset used if so.

Their wifi kit is exceptionally poor and if someone has moved near you with a mesh network in their house its probably failing to find any channel it wants to use.

Get different wifi kit and you'll probably not have problems - or not the same type of problems at least.

Mine's rock solid, but I use an Asus RT for wifi instead
