How about moving Christmas to the middle of every year?

When you think about two of the biggest celebrations for most of humanity weather you believe in a church or God or whatever are both at the end of the year Christmas and a week later New Year's.

Maybe it would make sense to move Christmas to say June the 25th or July tge 25th or better yet have it staggered and depending on your work or life schedule you could have it in either June or July and the best yet it would be officially a month long so whether you decide to celebrate at the beginning so June 25th or the end so July the 25th you could still enjoy it.

Also because it would no longer be in December kids would only need to have a couple of days off just before and after New year's so they woukd get more schooling and then be on there holidays when Christmas comes around anyway. The bonus being for the first year of the new Christmas time it would only be 6months since it was last Christmas lol.

Christmas is really just a celebration that the days are starting to get longer, people put up lots of lights and candles and big meals for all and it's a great lift for a depressing time of year

In Australia they have Christmas cards for sale in some shops in the height of summer, if you don't spot them you will probably not notice that it's christmas

The big problem will be convincing Santa Claus to go along with it. He is a creature of habit and there is a good chance he'll just continue to deliver all his presents as normal on the 25th of December. If he does his rounds a few years in a row and sees no decorations or food for reindeer or guinness left out for him he might just decide to put on his slippers and retire.

Very silly idea, summer time is the best time of the year, having the poxy crimbo buildup during summer would get in the way of all the great things to do. As already said Christmas works as a distraction to the rubbish weather

Ye but it would also be better in some ways. You could eat all the cake and mince pies you want and have plenty of time in the day to get out and exercise unlike in winter with the dirty air and the cold wet nights.

I think if we had a hot summer like we did this year tough. People wouldn't be in the mood tough for heavy cakes, big roast dinners, etc and it would change Christmas a bit.

If you want to exercise most will do it regardless providing there isn't extreme weather.

Not sure if this is said elsewhere on the thread but our Christmas was deliberately inaugurated by the Church at the lowest season of the year weather/light wise to coincide with/replace pagan festivals that were already celebrated. Jesus Light of the World at the darkest time.
