Just need laptop for emails and web, no games or films a little teams and zoom and that's about it ,would i be better going to Currys ?

is speed or storage mote important .

What's your budget?

Have a look at Currys, very, elara, paradigit, eurika, did, Amazon etc.

The system you mention would have a poor processor though your requirements aren't massive, with those requirements I'd say screen quality and build quality are most important.

Just wondering if you went ahead with that? I am looking at the 17" one for a relative on sale on Amazon at the minute. Just for browsing and the odd movie. Or has anyone else an opinion? I know it's a slow processor but only needed for basic stuff.

The person I have to buy it for is insisting on a 17" screen with a budget of only €400 so nothing else out there that I can find. They only use it for browsing and an odd movie. I know they will only end up with a bad one but you can't tell some people!

Thanks for that, but @ €529 its €144 more + €7 delivery. They won't stretch that far I'm afraid. I'll see what they say but was told a strict budget of €400.

Not a tech person so when you say, a stick of ram? On a one to one comparison how much better would that be?

Its a better processor but comes with half the RAM. The RAM is the short term memory where a computer stores things it needs to look up a lot so its quicker to access. Too little memory will slow a computer. Twenty euros will get you a 4gb stick and if you can use a screw driver to remove the back plate it sticks in similar to a lego connection - ask a teenager who uses a computer and they can probably do it for you.
