To use up all Christmas chocolates, etc and work through stuff we've in the freezer. (Not be wasteful tough). To use up all deodorants, shower gels, hair gels, etc before buying new ones.

Eat at home more and get into more of a routine again. (Yes, I know I'm eating a lot.)

    Try and exercise more.

Look at the streaming service I've subscribed at decided which one's to keep.

Cut back on doing the lotto.

My main aim to try and save a bit of cash to purchase something later on in the year.

What are your New Year's Resolutions for 2023?

More exercise, I say that every year but I turn 40 next year and really want to get back to running.

Don't work so hard. Be comfortable with taking time off.

Cut down on booze and bad food.

Get going with the garden plans.

Be a bit nicer to myself.

    Start hiking with the kids.

11 months left in my 20's so just put a few things straight.

Lose about 2 stone and keep it off.

Spend less time arsing on my phone.

Be less of a passenger in life and more active in terms of setting goals and working toward them.

    That kinda shíte.

To get better at standing up for myself. To get my anxiety tics under control when in front of others.

Ideally, move towards getting my own place.

More realistically, try and keep travelling. Perhaps give dating a go again. I don't drink and I like my own company so that'll be a write-off most likely.

I need to lose over 6 stone.

I also am trying to attend more concerts and other events.

I also will try to get through a few more shows. I started recording the films I watched since 2021 on Letterboxd. In 2021 I watched over 150 new films and this year I watched only 55 or so. However this year I watched long running shows which took a long time, Baywatch and Cheers. Baywatch had over 200 episodes of 40 minutes each.

Get a new job and get from 16 stone down to 13 stone. I have a friend also trying to lose weight and I'm certain that my resolution will at least last longer than his.. I'm actually super motivated about it at the moment... this time I will actually fcuking do it!

A few that I've been pondering in the lull period before New Years:

    • Some fitness related goals - running times and weight PR targets.
    • I put a lot of stock in my family's opinions and want to reduce that sphere of influence. Started it last year but want to keep it going.
    • Meditate on a more regular basis.
    • Say yes to social invites a bit more - I love my own company but can get set in my ways at the cost of opportunities that may not always be there.
    • Stop people pleasing and worrying about what others think.

Some of these are easier than others and might take longer than a year but as they say you manage what you measure!

Staying fit and eating healthy food and doing exercise daily, balancing working life with time off and a few house projects. Really just trying to get the right balance and appreciate being alive plus making sure family are okay and trying to check in with people. Think in other years I made ridiculous resolutions and beat myself up when they didn’t materialise, now I’m more realistic but still think it’s really good to have future goals. Good luck to everyone on their journey…
