Hi, I’m looking to buy a tablet for my elderly parents who have yet to be introduced to smartphones. The main use for this will be WhatsApp and chatting to family abroad. No Wi-Fi in the house and coverage is patchy indoors unless you’re prepared to stay in a location. Which is why I think a tablet that can be left down undisturbed during a call would be best. So my query is basically to recommend a tablet with a camera and if possible , one that has a SIM card compatible slot so they will have internet. Thanks.

    How about getting a 4G or 5G Mi-Fi modem?

Vodafone has a 5G/4G one for the home called a Gigacube.

    It costs about €100.

Then you can connect any WiFi capable device to it.

Or else get a smaller 4G portable one such as this.

TP-Link 4G LTE Travel Mobile Mi-Fi Hotspot, Connection with Up to 10 Devices, Compatible with Most of the Network, With Long Lasting and Rechargeable Battery, Easy Management with tpMiFi App (M7000) https://amzn.eu/d/9v7pR3S

As for tablets, Amazon has the Fire HD 8 or Fire HD 10 on sale at the moment
