Bringing a plant on a plane or delivering it from Ireland to the other side of Europe

So I live in Poland and a woman there is minding my cat while I visit Ireland and the cat has eaten a lot of our plants. I offered to pay her compensation for the plant. She doesn’t want that and suggests (softly) that if there is a plant in Ireland I could bring her….

so I’m not sure there is a solution to this…bringing a plant on a plane seems infeasible?

Is there a place that delivers Irish plants to countries such as Poland that will have 30 euro about of a delivery charge.

What is an example of an Irish plant that would be unique and interesting to people in Poland?

Poland is in the EU so it would be best to order one online for delivery to her. I don't think you can take one on a plane as it would not survive the knocking about and more important, it would not have the information to say it had originated within the EU.

On the whole whatever is familiar in Poland would be popular in Ireland and vice versa. You could try and find out which plants the cat destroyed or just send a couple of whatever seems appropriate. It would make more sense to order from a nursery in Poland than send one from here as they are all much the same.

Yeah, she didn’t like the plants the cat destroyed really. She’s a fiend for plants so maybe I will just buy one in Poland. I’ll have a look at what I think is nice.

How about buying different plant seeds from Ireland? Might make it a bit more interesting for her to see them grow ans obviously much easier for you to transport.

A person who likes house plants is not necessarily one who wants to grow things from seed!

You can take plants on a plane no problem. Before Brexit I have taken them back from the UK. Went to Netherlands visiting gardens and nurseries in recent years with an empty suitcase and brought it back full. I also order plants from various European Nurseries regularly. Plants can take a beating, people baby them too much, they survive outside just fine without us.
