Life Insurance with medical history

Hi my husband and I went about getting life insurance and were refused. I had a clot in my lung in pregnancy last year and he had a small mole which was a basal cell carcinoma removed last summer. Was refused based on this. Surely a good proportion of the country has medical conditions and get life insurance. Would anyone know of a company who would quote us? I have tried 2 large insurers. Obviously have no problem paying a higher premium or even having an exclusion criteria for the pre-existing conditions. We are hoping to apply for a mortgage soon so will probably have a similar problem getting mortgage protection.

Being declined life assurance isn't nice.

There is a register available to all insurers where rated and declined proposers details are stored.

Unfortunately what you and I might see as minor medical issues look different to life assurance underwriters whose decision today might commit cover for a very long term with inherent risks.

Mortgage wise you might be able to get a waiver.
