VAT on a second hand Caravan from Northern Ireland

    Folks,

If I purchase a used caravan from NI, and drive it south and place my car registration in it, is the VAT side of things almost unenforceable? Much the same way if I bought a used TV. Is there a specific paper process for Caravans coming in to the republic or not?

    Cheers

No specific process... The registration plate relates to the tow vehicle and has no bearing on the caravan. If your borrowed a NI campervan from a friend (or even rented it), you would still put your Irish number plate on it if towing it with your car...
