Italy 82-4 from 11. Ireland need to break this partnership.

12 wides and counting. Italy bowled 1.

Always a plethora of extras bowled by our lot.

9.51 the required… we should have this.

    couple of quick wickets, excellent.

    over 10 an over needed

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,234 ✭✭✭VillaMad

Italy need 54 from 30 balls with 4 wickets remaining. Could still go either way.

Barry McCarthy begins the 16th by giving up back to back fours..

I'm still convinced he's never bowled a boundary free over in his career

11 runs off the McCarthy over…came back ok seeing as ball 1&2 were hit for 4’s

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,234 ✭✭✭VillaMad

    Little bowls Singh. Big wicket.

  • Registered Users Posts: 729 ✭✭✭wicorthered

Good captaincy, went for the wicket rather than holding back Little to defend the last over. Balbirnie would've bowled Campher and he could've went for 18, leaving little very little to defend

Good over from McCarthy. Italy need 20 from the last.

Now 12 from 4. Huge edge goes for four and this is now going to the wire.

Berg mistimes it and Little takes the catch. 10 from 2.

Ireland win by 7 in the end. Too close for comfort that one but a decent bowling performance.

Batting was under-par. You need to be getting 180+.

That's our level folks. It's not competing with Eng and Sri Lanka, not even Zimbabwe or Afghanistan, it's scraping past Italy and hopefully Jersey and Austria. Anyone brave enough to say we'll beat Scotland?

One positive is Balbirnie loses that game

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,730 ✭✭✭✭Strumms

Yep.. Problem is we fell way short of that 180, on home soil, vs Italy…and lost 8 wickets into the bargain

Only a 7 run victory in the end… against sides that are multiples better, then italy in terms of both bowling and batting… trouble… got the win though.

    Abysmal first over from little.

Two quick wickets for Ireland, 17 off that first over, abysmal is right!!

Are you guys seeing this on ICC TV? I can't seem to find it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,795 ✭✭✭✭Pudsy33

    Never mind, got it

Denmark scoring at 6 an over but 4 down.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,730 ✭✭✭✭Strumms

47 from 66 needed. All wickets intact.

Balbernie opening and hitting 4’s and 6’s a plenty.

The weight of the world lifted off his shoulders.

A good bit more like it today although it's easier to bat when you are only chasing 123.

Bowling excellent again judging by the figures. Little off it a bit and struggling for consistency in general, but it's just about putting it all together.

Rain around in the weekend in Edinburgh. Ireland due to face Austria on Sunday and Austria have been the whipping boys so far, so it would be a blow to be denied a win by the weather.

Looks like the forecast is improving for tomorrow. The UK Met Office now not forecasting any rain….. weather.com is the google source that has rain still forecasted..

75/1 after 6. Stirling the man down

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,574 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

    176/3 after 16

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,574 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

226/4 in the end with Tucker finishing on 95 not out

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,730 ✭✭✭✭Strumms

11.3 the required. As long as our bowlers start well, stay disciplined and don’t go bowling the usual plethora of wides and no balls we should be fine…. Wd Wd 0 4 6 2 3 1…. is not something we want to see.

    6/1 after 1.5.. decent start

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,730 ✭✭✭✭Strumms

Austria already 2 down and needing 13.5 an over.

    Edit : 25.3 needed now an over….. 67/6 after 13.5 overs should just offer a handshake….

have to question the value of this fixture

    Austria bowled out for 98.
