    Hello,

I'm interested in the Audio Pro ADDON C5 / C10 and from research it seems that the products are excellent.

However, reviews for the control app on the Android store are consistently appalling, and many from people who are a lot more technically clued in than me.

I get the impression that the awfulness of the app really takes from the greatness of the hardware and I should consider different brands.

What are your thoughts on this, should it be a factor when buying?

    Hi Formosa,

    Thanks for the post.

I don't have much experience with that app to be honest but we've sold a good few of the Addon C series and we haven't had any negative feedback on it. Sonos App control is still the best and most user friendly but so long as you have good wifi coverage you shouldn't have any issues with the Audio pro app.

Let me know what you think!

    Kind regards

    David

I've a C5A. It would be rare enough I'd bother using the App but it's been fine when I've needed it. Most of the time I control the device via Alexa and Spotify Connect. The C5/C10 haven't got a microphone for Alexa so you need to use a separate Alexa device or the Alexa app I believe.

One of the things I did encounter is that if you've a shared 2.4ghz/5ghz WIFI network (both bands on the same SSID) it will give all sorts of problems getting the device to actually connect to the thing. It worked for me for a while then it stopped and I got very frustrated trying to get it to work again as I was fighting splitting my SSID. The manual specifically says you need a 2.4ghz only WIFI network in fairness. The app will not give you clear feedback this is the cause of your problem and I would bet this is a cause of a lot of the complaints.

I've not had issues since the device was connected to a 2.4ghz only Network.
