Health insurance - Australia

My DD moved to Australia in September and her health provider covered her until end of December. She was hoping to get health cover through work but her company doesn't provide it. VHI International is the only Irish company covering clients for long-stay overseas but the price is unrealistic. Does anyone have experience of taking health cover in Australia? Thanks for any advice

If the person is resident and working in Australia, then they should seek advice locally, there is a very limited pool on here that are likely to have up to date information on this.

Thanks, was just taking a punt that someone had a family member go through the process recently.
