So a lot of restaurants axed their early bird menus altogether in the last few years but with prices rising everywhere this handy website has come along. Its relatively new so at the moment has about 55 restaurants & cafes in Dublin and 5 or 6 in Cork & Galway and then the odd one in other counties. Hopefully over time more will get added.

You pay 1 euro per person to the website and then the menu is discounted by 25%-50% depending on the restaurant. The discounts can vary depending on the time & date of your booking so play around with it. Most of them are 25% off but you can find the 50% ones by using the search filter on the left of the page. Theres some day time cafes on there as well who are doing the discounts all day long. Drinks are not discounted and no solo dining is allowed, its minimum 2 people.

I used it for the first time after work last Wednesday in Darwins which is a good steak restaurant on Aungier St. Had a pork belly starter (11.50) and a 12oz rb eye steak (31.00) which came to 42.50 on the menu but the 50% discount brought that down to 21.25 which was incredible value for money for a really quality meal.

Limited choice in Galway and no 50% but interesting concept and would obviously be great to see it grow. Who do you pay? Do the restaurant have it on file that you booked through the website and the final price is reflected automatically in the bill?

You pay the website a euro per person and book your time slot through there. Your discount depends on the time slot but the restaurant will be notified of what discount youre on and your time slot. Then you pay the restaurant for the discounted meal. Click in to the restaurants menu as some have restrictions on the menu, Darwins didnt though it was 50% off the entire a la carte menu.

Its a shame the website didnt leave a place for users of the site to leave comments as to how the deal worked out and if it was very limited menu if at all. If I try one out Ill report back here.

You actually can leave a comment and they are visible on the restaurant overview page.

Maybe there are no comments for the place you are looking at yet? Check for example Tequila Jack's which has comments.
