    Hi All,

Has anyone had this issue with their Macbook air? Simply stopped powering up recently, cannot get it to turn on at all. It was in decent shape, not much stuff stored on it and 4 years old. Thought I'd get a little longer out of it to be honest.

If anyone has had the issue any advice on a solution would be appreciated or if anyone could advise on whether it's worth looking at having it repaired ?

    Of course, nothing worked.

If anyone's experienced similar and paid to have it fixed a ballpark price would be great. If I could get another couple of years from it and it costed a couple of hundred to fix I'd go for that.

    Sweet - thanks for that!

Please forgive the ignorance, do you think a battery would be an easy swap or best left to a pro??

If your MacBook Air won't turn on, there are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the issue.

    1. Check the power source: Make sure your MacBook Air is connected to a power source and that the power source is working properly.
    2. Check the battery: If your MacBook Air is not connected to a power source, make sure the battery has a charge. If the battery is low, connect the MacBook Air to a power source and let it charge for a while.
    3. Try a hard reset: To do a hard reset, shut down your MacBook Air and then press and hold the power button for at least 10 seconds. Then release the button and press the power button again to turn on your MacBook Air.
    4. Try a SMC Reset: Shut down your Mac. Hold down the left side Shift+Option+Control+Power button for 5 seconds. Release all the keys and power button. Then press the power button to turn on your Mac
    5. Try a NVRAM or PRAM Reset: Shut down your Mac. Hold down Command + Option + P + R keys. Keep holding the keys until you hear the startup sound twice.
    6. Run Apple Hardware Test: If your Mac is using OS X Lion or later, you can use Apple Hardware Test. Follow the instructions in this article to

Try the following steps to troubleshoot the issue:

    1. Charge the laptop: Connect your MacBook Air to a power source and let it charge for at least an hour.
    2. Force restart: Press and hold the power button for at least 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears.
    3. Reset the SMC: If the force restart does not work, resetting the System Management Controller (SMC) may resolve the issue. Follow Apple's guidelines for resetting the SMC on your MacBook Air.
    4. Safe boot: Start your MacBook Air in Safe Boot mode by holding down the Shift key while booting. If it starts in Safe Boot, try restarting normally.
    5. Reset NVRAM/PRAM: Resetting Non-Volatile Random-Access Memory (NVRAM) or Parameter Random-Access Memory (PRAM) can resolve startup-related issues.

If none of the above steps resolve the issue, you may need to take your MacBook Air to an Apple Store or authorized repair center for further diagnosis and repair.
