    Hi,

Anyone any idea how long a bog standard probate takes?

All very clean cut in a will with nobody contesting etc

Any indications with experience would be great.

    Thanks

Hard to tell - we're waiting since April 2021, but it's complicated.

It depends on which Probate Office is involved and (in Dublin) whether you're doing personal probate or using a solicitor.

We are using a solicitor in the midlands area. We were told all the documents were submitted in October but the solicitor only confirmed they were all submitted last week...so feel we are a bit delayed already

If you want a response to your original question ('how long a bog standard probate takes'), you will need to specifiy which District Probate Registry (Probate Office) you're dealing with.

    It was submitted in Athlone.

    Thanks for your help.

The Circuit Court office in Mullingar deals with probate applications for Offaly and Westmeath.

Typically somewhere between 2 - 6 months from date of completed submission.
