Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi just wondering, a 2012 Audi A4. Door won't open, but will lock, with key. Outside handle seem bit loose, when I open from inside the handle tightens again, and then will open using outside handle. But once use key to lock again, the door won't open from outside. Is it new door actuaror lock that's needed or is there a simpler trick r method. Cheers

Whole door lock mechanism and door loom need to be changed.

VAG door locks are notorious. And expensive.

Cheers. Was hopeing maybe a simple trick to fix it. Door lock actuator is 40e in breakers, so not too dear should be easily enough replaced

Try it but you may find you have to take it to a dealer or specialist to re-match the new components to the BCM.

On some cars, even if you disconnect something and re-connect it'll pick it up as a fault condition and it'll have to be rematched at a dealer.

For this reason fiddling with things and disconnecting and reconnecting things off the wiring harness should never be done unless absolutely necessary on newer cars.

Take off the door card and see what's happening. I don't think anything will need recoding, based on your description.

    Not your ornery onager
