The human rights and equality commission, reported by the Irish Examiner has sent a letter to Roderic O’Gorman stating that the government are facing legal action if they fail to find accommodation for asylum seekers again.

Wtf is going on in this country, serious look needs to be had to see who is running this country.

Time to tell the truth and say were full and don’t want anymore.

Imagine in less the than a week you can arrive here to claim asylum and despite not being able to read or write but you can take the government to court and win substantial financial compensation

Who are failing miserably. How many bogus asylum applicants have actually been rounded up and repatriated? The reality is that we have completely open borders and the word has gone round that their are easy ways to get into the Republic of Ireland, a member state of the EU and once in, very little chance that you'll be removed.

It is only right that such legal action would be taken against the government if they intentionally bring asylum seekers into the country and dump them on the streets. Compared to the despicable actions of those involved in the recent riots, that policy would be worse as they are intentionally hurting those migrants physically and psychologically.

You couldn't make it up. These commissions and NGO's (the ones with skin in this game) think Refugees are the only homeless. Wasn't there an afghan lad who had gone through multiple jurisdictions before he settled on Ireland and was here two weeks and decided to take a case against the Irish state. Problem here is when you promise the world to the world these are the problems you will get. Rents up by 18% this year in Dublin and lots of Irish and working migrants been priced out of the market and this crowd want blood out of stone.

This is different though. This is intentional government policy to promise asylum seekers accommodation, bring them into the country, and then dump them on the streets.

That is a good thing in my book. Human rights laws are there to protect the most vulnerable and isolated people in any society. Get rid of those laws - as the Brexiteers cross channel want to do - and you are heading down the slippery slope to authoritarianism (and it becomes only a matter of time before the rights of people born in the country are trampled on, never mind immigrants and refugees).

They are not just turning up. The government invited them in with the promise of accommodation and other benefits. To then dump them on the streets is pretty extreme abuse.

There is an EU regulation that requires airlines to take copies of all passengers travel documents. Indeed they get fined if their passengers don't have the required travel documents. Though I think it's something paltry like €1500 per passenger. The onus is on the authorities in destination countries to request this information from the airlines. Now that would lead to the question why isn't this being done? As there are people turning up claiming not to have travel documents.

I think this particular regulation is being updated and changing over the next two years so that the details will automatically be given to destination authorities.

Heard the best one yet on my local radio station today.They have a panel on every Friday morning and it's usually a fairly unsympathetic panel about the massive influx of refugees. Anyway after the discussion the host of the show reads out some texts and emails from listeners. Here it goes.

An employer was interviewing a lady from the Ukraine about a job, unfortunately he wasn't able to offer her the job as,wait for it. She's going back to Ukraine for Christmas, leaving on the 15th of December and not returning till the 15th of January.

How can this be.

Exactly where there's a will there's a way. Like the pandemic, laws can be created at the drop of a hat.

CAB was created to tackle a new kind of crime etc.

There's just no political will to solve the problem currently.

What is it that's actually going on?

Why is it the policy of the government (not politicising this as it is supported by opposition parties also nearly every TD) to happily allow the Irish to emigrate and replace them with people arriving at Dublin airport without passports, unable to speak English, a small number with possible criminal records? It makes no sense.

Not all that greed is financially motivated, its morally motivated. Misguided morals IMHO.

That's my take anyway. In other words, same problems we see in every aspect of public life.
