Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Power Assisted Steering not working

Power Assisted Steering in my wife's 2006 Nissan Micra suddenly stopped working today - P/S light came on the dash also.

I know its only a small car but she said its like trying to drive a lorry with the steering so heavy :)

Any thoughts on how we can get this fixed at minimal expense?

The assist motor on the steering column is probably gone. They go.

You have to change the entire steering column more or less. And then re-program the BCM to accept the new part.

On an 06 car, it wouldn't make any sense to do it. Time is up I'd say.

Funnily enough, the issue resolved itself this morning and the light disappeared from the dash - maybe its a sign that its on the way out?
