    House is cavity wall

House built built on solid rock,

    concrete floor

vents were fitted to allegedly address damp in the walls

    No evidence of damp yesterday

Wondering do the prelude pumping the cavity.

    Thanks as always

ground level rises steeply to the right , its solid rock

i dont see any impact they can have on the DEAP process.

if pumping the cavity surely they grills can be taken off and solid piping applied to maintain whatever ventilation its providing, assuming theres none there now.

as an aside, i also dont see how they can have any effect on rising damp?? :D

    definitely a concrete floor yes?

if its solid rock, i wonder if the floor is constructed in T beams and blocks and these are to vent a gap underneath?

    Yep solid floor.

There are no more around the perimeter.

The lady is widowed since the job was done so she has no idea.

    Having said all that

    some nasty looking cracks

I have seen these as remediation for radon. I would be a lot more concerned about those cracks.

That's something I'd look for a professional opinion on. Unusual place for venting?

I would agree except its a BER so I can't stray off the reservation as one might with a normal survey to help the client.
