Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Electric Car Dealership Dublin

    Is there a dealership in Dublin which specializes in electric cars?


    Specifically, I'm looking for one which would have atleast MG 4 and Tesla

    Go to MG dealer and then to Tesla service centre. You'll find some dealers sell Tesla used but prices are shocking. There are a few used EV specialists around but mostly source cars for people. If you want to see everything in one place maybe keep an eye out on the EV groups on Facebook as there are occasionally meets on. It would be private individuals and their cars generally. Occasionally a press fleet car will be there. For example MG4 press car with a reviewer was at a meet last year.

    Tesla are in Sandyford close to the LUAS. MG have a display in carrickmines also on the LUAS just passed Sandyford

    MG4 is only delivered in past few weeks so no non dealers will have any stock as there is zero used ones. The only place you can test drive an mg4 is at the mg4 dealer.

    There may be used Teslas available at some dealers, but the tesia dealership in Sandyford

    The MG4 versus Tesla are very different cars with very different prices and price brackets. Size alone is quite different with mg4 in the small to medium market. The mg4 is very budget from a "no name" brand but it does have high spec and very good bang for buck. There is known teething issues with the mg4 as it's so new. Tesla on the other hand is much more expensive. At least 10,000 euro difference and no used MG4 available and not many used Teslas and they are still more than new mg4 even second hand.

    Efficiency / range wise the mg4 won't get you as far for same battery size. With the mg4 you don't (yet) get access to tesia superchargers in Ireland if that matters.

    This company is based in Sandyford and has various EVs for sale of different brands

    In terms of advice you will probably get better unbiased advice here. Basic questions I ask do you own your own home, do you have an off-street driveway so can you get a home charger? What is your daily commute round trip in kms and what is your typical weekend long trip to relations etc?

    That will determine which car or which battery size you need to go for.

    That's rubbish.

    They are a known name brand maybe not as popular as Nissan or Ford yet or VW or as well known as them but many people know about them.

    What makes you say that? The "MG" brand name was bought by a Chinese company. That company now makes the MG4 electric car. So basically it is a no name brand really. And the MG4 is a very cheap, budget EV. So everything @zg3409 posted was correct.

    The MG from the early 00's and before is a very different beast to the current nameplate. Back then it was a rebadged rover (like the james rover on the top gear episode which was actually a FIAT multipla!) but now it is a rebadged SIAC. A chinese car with no more in common with longbridge than I do.
