Tractor battery

Had to jump start the tractor this evening. When I turn the key to start ignition, no battery light coming on and same thing when I pull the nob to kill the engine, no battery light appearing. Alternator not charging?

Yes,

replace the bulb or fit a new unit depending on type and be good again, (check for any loose or faulty connections as well)

may need to charge the battery.

Can you get your hands on a voltmeter? Any electrician should have one. The battery in my Landcruiser was giving trouble last week. These were the voltages I measured across the battery

Battery partially charged (engine off) - 12.7 V

Charger connected (slow charge) - 13.25 V

Charger connected (Fast charge) - 13.6 V

Battery when jeep running (from alternator) - 14.3 V

Get the light working b4 you do anything else. It is part of the circuit and acts the same as a fuse.

No charge will go to the battery if bulb is blown.

Check the simple solution first and work from there.
