Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Windscreen repair

    Hi,

Wondering if yee can help me out here coz I'm in a bit of a tizzy. So much so that any help would be really appreciated.

So I was driving on a skinny windy road. Another car came along. We both pulled in along the side and went slowly. However, on my side there were a few outreaching small branches. As I drove along the side, the branches scraped off my windscreen. It didn't appear as if any damage occurred. However, when the sun shone, I could make out many little scrapes - some the whole length of the screen. I was reading online how to DIY repair. Some said that the best solution is to use white toothpaste with baking soda and gave brief instructions on what to do. I tried this to no avail, however. So I'm now wondering, is there a better solution to get rid of these pesky scrapes. They're just very small light scrapes. Or would I be better off just leaving the car in with autoglass to get them to do it?

    Thanks.

Actual example:- I was buying a used car a few years ago. Deal done and was leaving dealer and I flicked the wipers. D/side wiper shot off and left the arm scraping off the screen for a couple of cycles leaving a scratch. Lads came out with a proper polishing machine c/w polishing compound and job was sorted.

Get the windscreen polished. There's specific glass polish and polishing pads, that would atleast improve it

I use Autoglym glass polish on my car for that. You should be able to remove light scratches using the polish with a microfibre cloth. Halfords stock this.
