CVRT Question

Hi folks, my vehicle failed the annual cvrt and I suspect the test center is unwilling to give me a retest. Is this allowed? I know they can refuse initial test but a retest I think not. Any input appreciated.

Why wouldn’t they give you a retest? Can you go somewhere else for a retest?

Why, I don't know..I tried using the online portal but they have refused me 3 attempts.

No cannot go somewhere else for the retest either. Would have to be a full test.

I don't think they legally can refuse a retest but I'm open to be corrected.

Didn't cross your mind to phone them?. If it's only a visual it might already have a cert, except they didn't give it to you.

If it's rust related you might have to get an engineers report first.

CVRT has to be retested within 28 days or its another full test.

If they arent willing to give it a retest then theres something seriously wrong with the van. Ive come across it before where a retest isnt enough to pass the vehicle and only a full retest will allow them to pass it properly. If you want to PM me the reg I can see what the fails were.

Going by what you wrote in #1 & #3 , looks like you didn't think of it.

So........ did you actually phone the test centre or is it easier to believe thet the RSA & the test centre has a vendetta against you? :)

So have you tried calling them or spoke to then directly to ask why your re test is being refused?
