is one hour 20 minutes enough time to get through stanstead airport customs etc if you are flying into it and flying out from it on interconnecting flights?

flying from dublin to stanstead and then onto gothenburg

Was there last week. Had 1h50 to clear passport control and back through security. Made it with 10 mins to spare (had to queue for passport control, which you won’t have to). I’d pay the 7 pounds for fast track security. It’ll be tight. And no chance if you have to collect / check-in luggage.

Not by a long shot! Also don't be sure you're on connecting flights, if you're talking about going out and back in that sounds like two separate flights so you've no comeback if you miss the second one.

Sounds very tight. Stansted have a lot of low cost flights and low cost operators don't really do connecting flights. The flight legs are usually independent of each other. I'd probably get fast track for security in Stansted and only bring hand luggage. Boarding will probably start 30 minutes before the Stansted flight's departure time so you might not even have the full 80 minutes to make the flight. Ryanair fly to Gothenburg from Dublin.

No chance even if the flight departs Dublin on time.Stansted not exactly efficiency central staff wise.

Don’t do it. Not enough time...not even close.

    I know the airport well.

If you were guaranteed to arrive on time, I wouldn't have an issue with it, especially if security fast track was purchased - there is no passport check when arriving from Ireland, that's why they bus you to the side door on landing, to skip the passport check section, Common Travel Areas FTW!

You've not said if you have bags either.

As you can't guarantee prompt arrival, I would say you'd be taking a chance alright.

I wouldn’t risk it as Stanstead is always fierce busy.

I flew from Dublin to Nuremberg via Stanstead a few years ago and it was such an ordeal having to leave through the arrivals and then go through the whole departures procedure again. It took a considerable time to get through security but I had 4 hours between connections so it was grand.

I would recommend booking an earlier/later flight from Dublin if possible to give you more time and then check into the lounge at Stanstead while you wait for your next flight.

is the uk the only country that makes you go out and come back in again if you have connecting flights?

No. Which airline are the flying with?

Ryanair are a point to point airline. You have 2 separate tickets to get to your destination so you're not protected if you miss one leg. It's not uncommon that you would have to go out through arrivals and back in through departures if your journey involves 2 Ryanair flights.

Others airlines will sell you a single ticket to a destination that may require you to change planes in another country on the way. If you miss your connecting flight it's the airlines responsibility to sort you out as you have a single ticket.

Even without bags it’s a crazy risk. On a good day you’d actually be lucky to make it even
