I'm thinking of going to Albania for summer, four or five months. Is it possible to get bye speaking English? Has anyone rented apartments there. Any advice would be great.

Younger Albanians seemed to have a bit of English in Tirana, might be the same in some of the coastal/seaside towns.

I've only been to Sarande and Ksamil, and there's loads of English spoken down there. Everyone under 30 is very fluent, and in summer there's a huge influx of Albanian expats from all over Europe onto their Riviera, the vast majority of whom speak English.

They're extremely friendly people, I can't imagine you'd have much difficulty finding somewhere to rent for a few months

Same as the above, everyone I interacted with had either excellent English or enough English to help me out. I found the people extremely friendly and had a great time there. Not sure about renting apartments but best of luck to you, sounds like a good adventure!
