Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Does someone know if a private health insurer pays a RTA (road traffic accident) invoice from a hospital? The person wasn't driving and it looks that she might have caused the incident.

Why wouldn’t they - but only for their insured! I had a crash off my bike a couple of years ago and my health insurer paid my medical bills.

I was in a rta and i didnt cause the accident and I'm claiming off the other person's insurance, i believe once the court case is settled, then the other insurance will pay the hospital bill

If an individual holds private medical insurance (VHI LAYA etc), it will pay any medical costs covered under the particular policy they have bought. The fact that a car accident may have given rise to the need for medical attention in the first instance isn’t relevant.

I think there's something that you have to reimburse the medical aid in a case where the costs are then covered by the other party's insurance. So you can initially reclaim your medical bills from the medical aid, but then have to reimburse them when the car accident insurance claim is settled.
