Cheap protein food sources

Hi. What are your favorite cheap protein food sources in this cost of living crisis? These are few of mine, but hoping to get new inspirations.

A lot of pork in that list. It's certainly cheap, but it's also a poor amount of protein for how much saturated fat and excess calories you're getting.

Cheapest sources that provide good nutrition are going to typically be chicken, turkey, tuna, eggs, milk, beans.

I used to really like getting tubs of natural flavour Skyr from Lidl and Aldi, but only the flavoured variants seem to be stocked now.

I also like Fage 0%, but there's been a significant price increase in the past year, enough that I really notice.

Pork is also notoriously poor from an ethical perspective, unless you're buying free-range/outdoor reared. Pigs are incredibly intelligent, social animals (on a par with dogs, really), yet they're basically reared in battery conditions here.

I've pretty much given up pork, and if I do fancy some, I pay for the higher welfare stuff. I wouldn't eat a battery chicken or egg so there's no point in being a hypocrite about pork.

I’ve only have a quick look, but why do you think it’s superior? Looks pretty standard. Avonmore protein milk is similar.

The high protein milk I get is slightly higher, but it’s just a supermarket product, nothing specialist.

Slightly lower. 12g vrs 6g. Would only be significant if you were drinking a lot of milk.

If you want zero carb, milk isn’t a great choice in either case
