Fast track at Dublin airport - Domestic flights

Hi All,

I've heard in the past that if you were flying domestic from Dublin that you got free fast track security.

Does anyone know if this is still true? Flying to Kerry tomorrow and trying to plan arrival time at airport.

I asked this question previously on a different thread and was told it’s not something DAA actively promote but if you head to Fast track and say it’s a service you’ve always used for domestic flights you will likely be let through free of charge.

I used to use fast track free of charge a lot for domestic flights at one time but haven't done so for a few years. Not sure if that's still the case.

Because we don't have any segregated arrivals facilities

We don't need segregated arrivals for a handful of Kerry and Donegal flights. Do what they do at Gatwick, bus these arrivals to skip passport control.

There is absolutely no reason on this earth that we can't do that, only DAA doesn't want to pay for it, or possibly that they just can't be bothered.

Ryanair certainly would be. Emerald, maybe. Not sure. One bus is needed for an ATR, two or three for a full 737. Should be something the DAA provide I think.

I meant the airlines being interested enough to pay for the arrangements and as necessary provide the transport, directly or via their handler.

There are doors leading outside directly behind passport control in T1. If there was a will, there's a way.

The CTA in Ireland only applies to Irish and British citizens so a document check is required after landing from the UK.

In the UK it applies to everyone but spot checks are still done.

As for domestic. There's probably not much more than 150 passengers arriving each day. Is that worth an investment for buses, drivers and associated infrastructure?

Bear in mind a good % of those coming in are connecting onwards, particularly off the Ei regional from Donegal so they need to go into the connections flow so have to be entered into T2 arrivals flow to avail of this without the need to re clear security

There is also no security concerns unless they don't trust Donegal or Kerrys security. The CTA is not an issue here (and we don't want to get into a discussion about that as it goes round and round in circles), as these are all domestic flights.

It is likely not much more difficult to just opening the doors and letting them in. Certainly if Emerald Air were to be linked into connections with baggage etc. Ryanair (from Kerry) may be a slightly different matter there.
