Least aggressive breed of ram

Have a few sheep 15 mostly for keeping ground clean and have a Charollais ram in with them.Hes my second one of the same breed as first one became to dangerous and this lad seems to be going same way so I can't be bothered with that breed anymore even though the lambs they sire are big brutes.Any idea on a breed that won't try smash me when I'm out in the field,thanks.

With small number and if your feeding sheep and ram meal I'd nearly say all rams regardless of breed will go that way.

Hard to know all the same, the least aggresive breed of ram on our farm down through the years was a Lynn. Personally I would usually put up with a cross ram if he is good on feet and throwing good lambs

Are u sure he wasn't a pet ?..... never had an issue with rams but I'd be wary of them.

Suffolk shearling came at me once but more in a way to escape...let's say he came out worse he never blinked at me after.

It's the kids or older people I'd be worried about.

While the lleyn ewes are very docile, we've had Lleyn rams that were hard handled.

But sure as long as you're aware of it you just handle with care

No pet got him when he was around 6 months old.Hes an awful size,like a miniature pony I think that gives him the confidence to go at you,the last one was the same came in small but when he left you could of put a saddle on him.Lamb offspring size doesn't bother me as I'm no t making money from them so just a reasonable sized quite breed is what I'd like.

I do feed them on and off all year so I can keep them coming for the bucket as it's handy when I have to run them in the shed.When the bucket is around is when he likes to charge but he'll happily do it when you're out tightening some wire as well

We had cross rams in most breeds over the years.

Have vendeen, Belclares and a hybrid beltx/rouge now and they are all very timid and easy to manage.

Also have a Suffolk who is a bit more awkward and could give you a root in the pen but not out in the field.

I've a texel hogget ram here and you'd be best advised not to turn you're back to him for too long. Very quiet but too used to people.
