Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

CarPro TarX - Issue with paint

Hi Folks. It seems that the Detailing sub-forum no longer exists and has been merged back into the main forum, so I'll post my question here.

I'm just after using CarPro TarX on the roof of my car to try and clean up some contamination/sap or some type of roughness that was on the surface of the paint before claying the car. I sprayed it on the roof and left it sit for about 5 minutes before washing off with car shampoo and pressure washing off.

What I noticed straight away after using the product is that it's left streaks in the paint on the side of the car where it ran down, and on the roof the appearance of the paint has turned to what I can only describe as a sort of orange peel or what looks like circles/bubbles underneath the surface. There's no change in texture of the paint and it's not immediately noticeable, but it has definitely affected the paint somehow and made the finish more dull.

I followed up immediately with a hand polish to try and correct it but it didn't help. There was no polish, wax or sealant on the paint prior to this.

I've used TarX many times before on other cars to remove tar and other contaminants and I've never had an issue like this. Could this be corrected with a machine polish or does it look like this has damaged the paint?
