Terenure '23 canceled. And Swords?

I've just learned the Terenure classic show had been canceled this year due to the public parking area being no longer available in the school grounds.

This is a big loss after after 3 years of Covid. Let's hope for a return in '24.

While I'm posting this I may as well mention the biannual show at the swords national show centre that has also been missing since 2019. Does anyone have any info on this and a possible return?

Swords is a COVID testing and vaccination centre 24/7 for a long time. I doubt the hse will hand it back in time to plan summer events.

That’s a bugger. Was looking forward to that. I’ll have to check the Irish Vintage Scene listing for an alternative.

I did find the Gerard Murphy Memorial run in Enniscorthy last year very good. A huge amount of cars and a great variety.

@zg3409 Really? I've tuned out of covid news for over a year now, but thought these centers were long gone? Their site says "The Board have agreed to Lease the National Show Centre until the end of July 2021", but guess it's not been updated?

@hoodie6029 Some events listed here https://www.ivvcc.ie/ and if you fancy a trip to Kilkenny there are two shows late in the year that are pretty big.

Classic Fest on at Galway Racecourse around the same time as the Terenure date, and as mentioned the show in Kilkenny in August is a great show.

Here's an event on the 2nd July (same weekend that Terenure would have been on) in Dublin (Leopardstown Racecourse) - might become a natural replacement? (I've no connection, just saw it mentioned elsewhere).

As of today it's listed on HSE website but may be not in use during this phase of vaccinations.

There is an Irish car shows and meet up Facebook group that has a calendar of all events and is very good. Often 10+ events every weekend.

I like the wells house meet near Gorey. It's not massive and not small but has a good turnout.
