KN work outside my house

Hi,

The KN crews have just installed new fibre cable & black splitter boxes on the poles on my street, to replace the existing old telephone runs.

I live in the Cobh area and too be honest the whole town has had this upgrade being put in place since the new year.

If anyone else has had this type of work carried out in their area, how long have you had to wait for the installation into your house?

Are you still waiting and this is just another false hope!

My upgrade will be the initial 500gB up from the current 100gB of which I really only get about 37gB regular!

Your advice and suggestions will be appreciated.

A couple weeks I’d say. If cables are in and spilced in dp and light is active. Won’t be long before open Eir let providers start orders.

Had my visit on Wednesday last, quick survey and they started the installation. About an hour in total, most of their time was taken up by running a cable from an outside pole to the front of the house and drilling a hole. All the necessary items were fixed to the inside wall. Very efficient and everything is up and running now, with huge increases in WiFi speeds, 1GB is now the new normal.
