Is depositing a bank draft of Bank of Ireland on the payee account in another country possible?

Does a bank draft have any expiration time?

You can request a foreign bank draft from the branch. You can order it through this link below. The draft will expire after 6 months.

Thank you for the response.

My questions are more about depositing the bank draft to a payee account.

If a bank draft was issued more than six months ago, do the funds become unavailable, or does it only concern international payments?

If it is still possible to withdraw the money, does the payee have to open an account in the Bank of Ireland?

Thanks for coming back to us.

We have checked this with our branch staff and there's actually not any expiry date on Bank Drafts.

Apologies for the previous information provided.

A bank draft can be lodged to any account anywhere in the payees name. It goes through the same clearing process as a cheque.
