Funding coaches to do a lot of these things isnt the same. Most club coaches can do a few evenings a week. Never said that only wealthy can do those hours. The kids may want to do more hours but far easier with some of the schools and paying coaches to do those extra hours, extra sessions which is again where lack of fee paying schools comes in.

But it's not just fee paying schools - France has a great model of underage player development and don't have fee paying schools, whereas England have a huge amount of schools, but not exactly a huge track record of producing tonnes of talent with that.

Even in Leinster - St Mary's and Terenure are two large, fee paying schools with a lot of rugby heritage but their production of pro rugby players has dried up to almost nothing in the last 5-10 years, whereas schools like CBC Monkstown, Wesley, CUS, St Gerard's, and even Belvedere have only produced a handful or in some cases no players in the past decade.

Its not just a lot of things but it seems clear that cumatively Leinster have a better environment. And that’s not primarily down to leinster rugby.

Like it seems like there alot of ways that other provinces could be more like leinster if they put in X amount MORE effort.

So on this, I made the point that:

A fairer comparison would be Munster this weekend vs Leinster last weekend, when both at full strength.

Here’s how that breaks down:

Leinster started 1, with 3 on the bench. 1 of the 4 is a current academy player, who was on the bench. 

Munster are starting 2 with 4 on the bench. No current academy player.

That’s hardly evidence Munster aren’t backing their academy.
