Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi wondering If anyone can help. I've been out of work for a few years will longterm illness that is classed as a disability according to the WHO anyways I recently learned I need to look after myself going forward or it would affect my pension when the time comes. So I got a diagnosis from my specialist in 2021 and so far all medications so far have failed to work and I'm aware I could be for years to find something that works or nothing may ever work. So I rand ip section and they said based on my prsi contributions I can apply as I have enough and never said I needed from thr relevant tax year. I'm now waiting on all reports from my dr but the form doesn't call for the report so do I apply and they send me out more forms to fill in and for my dr or do I have to wait till my dr does up a report? I can't get illness benefit as I'm not in work currently and wond get da due to the means test. I'm getting incredibly worried about my future and future pension if I never get back to working. What do people in my situation do? I can't go to a job interview and not disclose my condition incase I cause an accident or miss .ore days than I'd be in due tp my illness. I can't be the only person in ireland in this situation.

This will get moved to State Benefits.

There's a calculation based on your stamps (earned through work and Social Welfare) - which will indicate what level of state pension you will get. I'd get in contact with the department and ask what's required to apply for invalidity pension.

Illness benefit is based on your PRSI contributions, it's not means tested. You might be thinking of Disability Allowance, which is means tested.

Make the application for invalidity pension, the section will ask for any medical records it needs (they will check your PRSI record first).

Confirm your email address so you can post properly, then I'll move this to a forum that's related to the topic instead.
