BBC Radio testing on DVB-S2 TP

I'm not sure when this started and only picked up on it by a comment elsewhere. So if this is old news, apologies.

What does it mean ? Aren't all the BBC radio stations on satellite anyway ?

At the time BBC went full HD and DVB-S2, there was some debate on whether it was possible to put radio channels on S2. I'm not techie enough to know the finer details. Eventually I imagine the Beeb would like the radio channels on the more efficient S2 TPs but, like the HD switchover, that would make non-S2 boxes obsolete even for radio. (for BBC audiences anyway)

Mentioned towards the bottom of this RXTV article. BBC radio will be DVB-S2 only as well by March next year.

All of them have certainly been there since early Jan, prior to the transition from SD to HD
