Where to find a Venus Fly trap house plant?

Any suggestions on where I might find a Venus Fly trap house plant in Limerick or surrounding area?

Tried the Co-Op shop, Van Veens, Curragh chase garden centre and the garden sections of B&Q, Woodies etc. to no avail

Try Diarmuid Gavins stall in the Jetland shopping centre. I’m sure I’ve seen them in there before

Not sure if any use but you can order online for €12!

gonna get one also, sick of fcuking flies man and it’s only may.. if you have any florists locally they could be worth asking they might be willing to order you one!

Tried Diarmuid Gavin's stall outside Dunnes in Jetland. They had Monkey Pods, but not the Venus fly traps.

As these are more an outdoor plant needing a saucer of rain water to live in.

For house Ultra violet bug zapper or yellow sticky pads and window stickers that poisons the bug if landed on.

believe it or not the floor shop out on the floor in Dunnes Jetland had these last year , might be worth a look!

Flying Abruptly

I found one in Clarenbridge Garden Centre last summer, it was in a small 5 cm pot. Only recently split it up into 2 separate plants, but they are still quite small but did a nice job last summer with flies.

They have them on their website in what looks like a bigger 12 cm pot for €16.99, shipping is €14.95, but click and collect to their Crecora/Limerick location is free.

Another insectivorous plant I've had success with is a South African one called Drosera Capensis or the Cape Sundew. I bought mine in Supervalu of all places, but I've seen them available online. they're easy to keep but must be kept moist by standing the pot in 1 to 2 inches of water, preferably rainwater. This is mine, currently in flower. It lives in the conservatory mainly but I put it outside now and then near our wormery which lets it grab a few flies ...

@MiketheMechanic I just came in here to say I saw today that Clarinbridge Garden Centre have them in their shop in Crecora but you’ve since managed to get one.

How you getting on with it as I’m looking to get one myself.

Clarinbridge are doing a great sale on indoor plants this weekend if anyone else is interested in picking up one or any other indoor plant.

They def had Venus flytraps in Diarmuid Gavin’s in Jetland. I saw them there 2 days ago. Up at the stand where the till is. There is a plastic dome over each plant.
