Hi, could anyone offer any response regarding social welfare support for young adults with Dyslexia?

I am asking about a young lad who has dyslexia and dyscalculia.

He has left school and looking for work, but finding it hard because of his Dyslexia.

Are there any supports or is he able to claim disability allowance?

    Thanks for any advice.

Disability allowance is a payment anyone can apply for between 16 and 66 if they can satisfactorily prove that because of illness or injury or disability they are substantially prevented or curtailed in looking for and being available for full time work.

The applicants GP has to complete a report stating that the patient be considered unfit for any type of full time work.

Any further evidence will also be considered. It’s also means tested.
