New retention systems for Wexford bus stops

I don't suppose anyone knows the reason why a lot of the bus stops around Wexford town and environs have had new retention systems installed but don't appear to be actually being used?

I've noticed what's in the attached picture being installed at a lot of the bus stops around the town and even down in Rosslare Harbour where I work and I was just wondering if there was a particular reason for them?

I'm hardly wishing for too much by hoping that they'll allow for the installation of more modern digital signage on the stops?

The NTA are currently rolling out new bus stops across the country. This is the prep work beforehand.

Surprised that none of these stops were installed as part of the new 133/131 tender. There's not even any (physical) indication as to which stops in Bray are served by the 131 at the moment.

Ah ok. So wishful thinking on my part then that we'd be getting actual useful info at the bus stops.

RTPI signage (so far, at least) uses a far thicker support pole than the stop flags, so this alone would be a dead giveaway (to those in the know, at least) ;)

Well they are a better design than the existing Bus Éireann stops to be fair.

The idea is to standardise the stops across the country and cut down on different operators having their own stops.
