Mate bought a uk car and on way home thru belfast, popped into shop and was clamped on her return by clampers of the DVLA, paid to get clamp off but on removeal of the heavy chains on clamp it seems these snapped of the angle sensor housing on wheel.

What her chances of claimong here

The angle sensor or the abs sensor? Its very unlikely for the abs sensor to have sustained damage from that

    DVLA clampers?

She would need to prove that they did the damage (rather than by just saying it wasn't like that before) and as has been mentioned, this is an unlikely event if the ABS sensor is correctly fitted.

Life is too short - she should move on and learn to park legally!

The sensor that goes into hub, dash lights come on just one on , sensor clip is broke .

She did park legally, only wasnt taxed but is vrting it just no logbook yet to do so

Technically she didn't park legally as the car must be taxed to be used in a public place, hence the clamp. She was just unlucky that this happened for what may have have just been a 5 minute stop.

As others have said here, the chances of proving that the clamp did any damage to the car are slim and would likely cost more to appeal and prove than actually repairing the car. If it is a sensor or such like, it is probably reasonably straightforward to get fixed locally. Consider it an additional cost of importing the car.
