Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Ridiculous dive by Szoboszlai, legs flying in the air. Football is not a non-contact sport, yet he went down like he was shot after the lightest of light touches.

Would assume we will see an apology from PGMOL to Bournemouth after this game for that decision and another round of officials getting stood down?

2 fast second half goals have surely wrapped it up for Brighton.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,330 ✭✭✭✭namloc1980

Brighton are a super team to watch. Great football.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,365 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

The studs don't even touch him.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,930 ✭✭✭KH25

That is not a red, and I’m not a Liverpool fan. Yellow at best.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 380 ✭✭FluffPiece

**** off ref with that shite....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,396 ✭✭✭✭TitianGerm

There'll be a red in virtually every game if that's the bar your setting. Yes stids are up but there's no force in the movement and the studs barely touch the opponent.

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 33,275 CMod ✭✭✭✭ShamoBuc

    Jota gets Liverpools 3rd.

    Never a red either.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,365 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

Referees in this league are just awful. It can't be said enough.

The key is they hit the sides of each other's feet. It was ridiculous.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 380 ✭✭FluffPiece

Yeah, that card either needs to be overturned or the foul/punishment consistent which will result in multiple cards each week. Fecking nuts decision.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,106 ✭✭✭✭Fitz*

Both teams in the Liverpool-Bournemouth could argue that they have had big 50/50 decisions go against them. I'd say neither manager will be happy at FT with the referee.

It's a shame they make themselves the talking point.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 380 ✭✭FluffPiece

There will be a game later today that will have a bad tackle and it'll be punished as a simple yellow, **** these refs and the inconsistency of it all. Maybe they simply won't be selected for matches next week as a punishment :/

Spurs have been woeful for the first 25 mins.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 46,382 ✭✭✭✭Mitch Connor

Looking forward to seeing the ref and var stepped down from the next matches after missing a blatant penalty.

Though it would have been fir united so they'll be fine.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,980 ✭✭✭doc_17

Utd look better today. Spurs need to be a little more aggressive. Not sure why that penalty wasn’t given, hand was up and out a little?

    How was that not handball?

How many now over the first 2 weeks.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,980 ✭✭✭doc_17

That should AWB getting hooked at HT

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,951 ✭✭✭The Big Easy

How do they keep messing VAR up!?

From every handball being a penalty to arms spread wide to block a shot - no penalty!

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,220 ✭✭✭davemckenna25

Especially when you consider that VAR is always on the side of UTD... Or so some would have you believe!!

I was fully expecting a penalty to be given.

I have given up trying to understand the handball interpretation 2 seasons ago...

Woeful by Bruno, should have been the opener.

Bruno gets booked there , bit unlucky i thought, seemed calm and he is the captain.

Uniteds Woodwork now gearing a battering.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,190 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

I seen the red card tackle by McAllister in the match highlights, I missed it live. That has to be overturned. Would VAR not step in and tell the ref he's messed up? It was high, but there was little contact, Christie didn't help by rolling around like his shin had been snapped in 2.

Second half should be interesting following the Spurs goal. Poor enough defending, nice finish though.

    First goal for the club.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,489 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

How is that first one not a penalty, never got the ball, and got the player full on and wiped him out

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 33,275 CMod ✭✭✭✭ShamoBuc

    Maddison really controlling things now.

Spurs really are passing their way through Uniteds defence, Son coming close.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,489 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

Look at the ball, Martinez never got it, he did wipe the Spurs player out though, caught him hard on the foot, how on earth can VAR not see it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,730 ✭✭✭✭McDermotX

I honestly think they'd point to the fact that neither was in control of the ball, and the shoulder barge was within the rules................

BUT, it's a challenge that would be given as a FK anywhere else on the pitch. It's not a shoulder challenge. Steps in with the leg and everything.

Scandalous that VAR doesn't see it. Doesn't want to see it is more accurate.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,730 ✭✭✭✭McDermotX

Can't really argue with Spurs 2up here

    By far the better side

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,489 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

Spurs have another, they're taking chances Wolves never did

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,504 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

    Tidy finish from Martinez. 🤣

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 33,275 CMod ✭✭✭✭ShamoBuc

Spurs with the deserved second goal. Uniteds midfield have been bossed in the second half in particular.

Martinez own goal, not the start to the season he was looking for.

Rashford and Mount off and to be fair, they were pretty non existent again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,730 ✭✭✭✭McDermotX

Mount looks like a player who is fresh to the league. Another stinker.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,395 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

    Neville calling for more signings.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,396 ✭✭✭✭TitianGerm

In fairness Bruno just runs around like kids in under 6s trying spectacular stuff the whole time. Then you have Mount and Casermio being over run 3 on 2 most times because Bruno doesn't bother getting back.

Time for the Norwich scarves to come out again

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,311 ✭✭✭✭Father Hernandez

    They do tbf.

Huge sums of money spent but arguably the team hasn’t improved.

1 fit striker who is Martial and somehow still at the club.

Not a huge amount of quality squad depth.

Just because they spend vast sums of money doesn’t equal success. United spent poorly as per usual.

If Kane was playing it would have been 5

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,311 ✭✭✭✭Father Hernandez

He’s injured, 20 years of age and completely unproven.

That’s not a signing of a serious club who wants and feels they should be challenging for top honours.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,489 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

United sending out the new keeper to face questions, weird, that says a lot about their captain.

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 23,217 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kiith

Great to see Spurs playing football again. It's still very early days, and we're leaky as hell at the back, but the improvement from Conte is night and day. It's criminal how under used Bissouma was.

I've never understood Bruno as captain. Definitely not the leader type imo.

  • Registered Users Posts: 341 ✭✭bingobango12

Second week in row Onana has done media duty. Is Bruno still having a cry or why isn’t he doing the interviews?

There are 2 and they 'link' to make them even more 'eyecatching'. Very annoying.
