No Communication/Acknowledgment from Public Appointments Service

    Hi all,

    Posting for someone else:

I have two questions about the PAS process. I applied to a specialist AP role in the civil service and was placed on the order of merit. At the start of June, i was asked to forward on reference details, confirmation of qualifications, Garda clearance details etc. Stupidly, I sent these details in the day after the day specified in the email. I haven’t heard anything from PAS since, not even an acknowledgment of receipt, despite emailing two generic competiton mailboxes and leaving a voicemail for the HEO whose name was on the email. My questions are:

    1) Is it possible that I’ve just been disqualified for late submission of these documents. If so, why won't they tell me?

    2) Is this normal of PAS and should I just hold tight? Has anyone else experienced this?

    Thanks!

If the call is going to voicemail and they’re not replying, it’s quite possible the person you’re dealing with is out of the office.

Did you try calling someone else or just ring the PAS main number?

If you were disqualified, they would tell you I would imagine

You wouldn't have been disqualified. At this point, after having gone through all the effort to find and recruit you, it would be shooting themselves in the foot. It's different to when they were trying to sift through a couple of hundred candidates.

I agree with Mr. G that someone's just on leave or busy. You'll hear back at some point.
