I'm building it 5 blocks high its not a retaining wall, it will only hold the soil in the cavity. I'm wondering do I need to use wall ties or strapping to hold it…

I plan on plastering it also so would I need to somehow line the inside so the soil/water inside doesn't stain the plaster?
