Vodafone seems to have launched a “OneNumber” offering which shares your phone plan with your smart watch.

Yep priced a bit steep but network is generally very good (for me anyway). Would be great if they added Apple devices to this.

Any news when the Apple Watch will be supported? I’m guessing it will be supported from when the next Apple Watches are released. I’ve an Apple Watch Ultra and can’t wait for this

On the unlimited sim only plan with this as an add on. Had already picked up the samsung watch 5. It's worked pretty seamlessly so far.

S20. The WiFi calling is enabled on the phone as preferred also and I'm almost sure that is used on the watch also.

I was hoping with the new apple phones and watches that Vodafone would announce the addition of Apple devices to OneNumber but alas nothing; can’t see any massive technology roadblocks why they can’t.

I'd be a bit wary of going with it at the moment - if I'm correct the Apple Watch cellular only supports 3G, 4G and 5G.

Vodafone have largely turned off 3G but a lot of areas have no 4G or 5G still, and so EDGE is now a very common occurrence when moving around. That would mean the Apple Watch cellular would be completely useless as a standalone device in those areas?

I guess your use case is what matters, if you’re hiking up mountains or in national parks then 100% you need more than just your watch. I run roads , often into rural areas but they have decent coverage so should be ok for myself most of the time. I really only want it should I fall/injure myself.

Went ahead and signed up for this via the apple watch app and have got three months free. Directly through the vodafone app was giving just one month free

Moved from Eir to Vodafone yesterday and got the RED unlimited Sim Only with the OneNumber add on. Ultra 2 watch is working fine as I went for walk last night without the iPhone and could make/receive calls and stream Music no hassle but I'm only getting 4G on my iPhone 15 Pro max and the Watch.

I then paid for the speed upgrade see if that would get my 5G on both devices but still only getting 4G.

Is anyone else getting 5G on their iPhone and Watch ? and if so what plan have you got with VF ?

Oh I'm in Waterford City which has 5G coverage

I done mine through the Watch app>Mobile Service, but I think you can also add it via the Vodafone app > Buy and Manage add ons - might be worth a try

Red Unlimited Sim only only has 4G I believe and Red Unlimited Max Sim only has 5G. Might depend which one you signed up to.

The plan I got was RED unlimited Sim Only so that might explain that so, I did pay for the speed upgrade for €5 euro thinking that would bump it up to 5G but maybe I'm wrong. Oddly enough I can't use data while on phone calls and VF are looking into it.

I started typing this earlier when I saw your issue:

I had this issue (no5G) with my work phone in March. Plan was Red Business Unlimited so 5G should have been included but I never got it. Work actually had to issue me a new phone number the same month, again, no 5G but now I also had no data while on calls so had to ring 1907. They reset my number and I immediately had data while on calls and 5G. Vodafones set up is spottier than a Dalmatian but if you give them a call and ask them to do a network refresh it should sort it.

hi I had this issue when I was on that plan, you just have to ring them on 1907 and ask them to enable 5G for you. It isn’t done as default for some reason..

I’m only on Red Unlimited Sim only ……. I rang customer service and they were able to get me signed up on their system, not sure what the issue was through the app/portal, might be related to 4G/5G but all working now

Can I ask what apple watches people are using on OneNumber now?

I note that they have the Ultra 2 listed as an available watch but I've got the Ultra 1 which is still a celluar watch and near identical to the Ultra 2 (don't see myself upgrading to it)

Are they only showing off the lastest watches…..cause that's what they also want to sell to people

Ultra 2. But once your Apple Watch has cellular, you should be fine, just a case of vodafone not selling an older model watch.

Got there in the end, after many calls and conversations a chap reissued a new Esim for my iPhone and I've got 5G up and running. Even got a little credit added to my account for the hassle 😃
