LED bulb and traditional dimmer

I'm in a rental at the moment and the main living spaces are lit with incandescents on traditional dimmers. The total for the existing lights is over 400W, so when the evenings get long these will consume quite a bit.

As it's a rental, I don't want to get into changing switches and the like, but I will swap out the bulbs for something compatible.

Is this even possible and do any of you have recommendations for bulbs if this is possible. I'm looking for 100-150w equivalents in terms of light output

Your 'traditional' dimmers will probably not work with LED bulbs. If you had the ability to change them, I'd recommend the Varilight V-Pro range which you can buy in Screwfix.

It's not something that I wanted to get into but I think I'll see if I can swap out the switches now for standard on-off since I hate dimmers anyway.

Most traditional dimmers have a minimum and max number of watts that they work with. Its normally written on the back of the switch. If you know that you may be able to max and match led/incandescent bulbs to within that range.

A 9 Watt LED seems to be equivalent to a 60 watt incandescent

A standard dimmer switch cannot be used with an LED light as you will never be able to dim the LED light either completely or not very well. LED lights need their own special electronic dimmer switch to have a fully functioning and dimming light.
