Saw some stuff on twitter this morning that was basically saying if The Sun wanted to have a sex pervert story on a news celeb, they could look closer to home at their own HR files on Wooton. Originates from PopB1tch i think.

As for Wooton? GB News stooge had him pretty much exited from journalism anyway I thought. I mean there’s tabloids, and then beneath that there’s scum journalism, and beneath that there’s GB News, an entertainment channel posing as a news channel. Going to ground is a step up!

Meh, no harm done, but there's probably about 1000 famous people you could start a thread on and not be reasonably expected to have to explain who they are. Dan Wootton just isn't one of those people, so some background maybe. A thread in politics - possibly most would know him there and not need a bio. Even then whilst I'm an avid politics follower who knows him from his rancid columns, I'd probably struggle to pick him out of a line-up of cnuts.

I'ts not about knowing him or not, it's about context. What trouble is he in? What shít is about to hit the fan? How do you know he's gone to ground? You know, the stuff that would allow people to discuss what you obviously want to discuss.

Wootton is a nobody. The echo chamber that is twitter elevates him somewhat and his need for controversy will see his stuff come in to your feed even if you don't follow him.

He's a celebrity gossip journalist who was hated and he landed on a role in GBNews when they were offering it to almost anyone. His time has come, he's been taking more Ls than Ws for years now.

He was very prolific back in the day, as a showbiz gossipmonger, on ITV daytime (Lorraine, This Morning, Loose Women) etc.

I think he may well have also turned up on Irish tv talking showbizness a few times.

However, I think following the death of Caroline Flack, things took a considerably darker turn. A lot of people, rightly, felt his treatment of her/the story was very bad and he seemed to go down a bit of an alt right rabbithole ( or it forced him into showing his true colours )

He was a serious brexiteer and he also became a big anti sjw, anti woke, anti-trans crusader culminating in him ending up on GBeebies.
