Car Hire Excess

Ok thought I would post here not travel forum

Hiring a car int he UK for 5 days and done and dusted but did not go with their excess quote. Looking to do this here before I go over.So there are so many of them online and seem to be the same price but is there anything I should be looking out for in the small print.

First time hiring a car in ages and just want to check before I pay for one and turns out I am not covered for X or Y

You are just taking out a policy to cover the excess in any claim.

It's fairly straightforward so just go with an established company.

+1 to the above. Ballpark for an annual policy covering hire in Europe about 3 years ago (before Covid) was €50 and €25 for 7 days. Beware of anyone quoting significantly less.

I was with AIG for several years, picked up a small dent in Lanzarote in early 2020 which cost about €300, they reimbursed me every cent.
