Busses from Waterford city to Wexford town

I intend to arrive into Waterford railway station at 11:30am on a weekday.

I wish to continue by bus to Wexford, but I'm not in a hurry.

I see there is the BE 40 expressway route, with departures at 1:15pm and 4:30pm. The 7:30pm departure is too late for me.

Two possible departures between noon and 7pm seems poor.

Are there any regional services? Just the 372 at 5:40pm?

    Thanks.

There's also the 340 Wexford Bus service that departs at 15 past the hour every 2 hours, with one of those departures being at 12:15pm.

I see the Wexford Bus 340 fare is 11.50 using Leap.

The BE 40 fare on the website is 9.40.

I see the pick-up stops below, thank you.

The LeapCard fare on the 372 (at 5:40pm) is only €7 :-)

The BE website says it's 10.00. I presume that is a cash fare?

It's odd that Expressway is cheaper than stage carriage.

Route 372 fare is EUR 10 cash and EUR 7 LEAP

Route 40 fare is currently EUR 13.50 for both cash and LEAP; It is increasing from 31 July by 5% to EUR 14.00.

From the same date, Expressway are also introducing an online discount of 33% if you book more than 7 days in advance (but only for a limited number of seats on each departure). Hence the EUR 9.40 "early bird" fare above.

When you are booking a PSO BÉ service online you are paying the equivalent of a cash fare. So if you have a leap card you're saving a few quid paying the driver with that. Booking a seat on PSO also doe not guarantee you a seat. I travelled from New Ross to Waterford Bus Station on the 372 a couple weeks ago and it arrived to my stop empty and was empty to Waterford except for myself, my friend and the driver. Might be busier on its previous trip from Waterford.
