With the price hike in Spotify premium just announced, it may be finally time to cancel and avail of a subscription through my cousins overseas as spoke about previously on here.

Whats the cheapest and most cost effective way others have found, there was a thread but cant seem to find it this morning

OP, Tidal may be an option for you too - BA link here. I had it for about 2 years but then switched to Apple One as the kids got older it was just easier for 6 of us to be on that.

You need a mastercard for tidal ARG now (I think). Deezer via Turkey works sometimes and there's also YouTube music.

I've had a family account with fellow Boardsies for years now. Works out as €3 a month. I know you can save more by getting a Turkish sub but imo for the sake of €3 it's worth it to save the hassle and keep Irish chart recommendations and stuff.

Sorry was paying for family so saved me money.. So I set up a play store AC in turkey like for cheaper Disney + used the same ac signed into bluestacks.. then setup a new Spotify ac in turkey with it and paid via google pay in bluestacks. Used Turkey VPN it's free on playstore in bluestacks to get me turkey and worked.

Thanks, is your region in the app set to Turkey or Ireland. I set up a new account with an Ireland address as the rest of the family members will have that (link above says that's fine for Australia etc).

I can change the country on my browser to Turkey, but the browser won't let me pay via Google pay, will only let me use a card.

When I try on the app it keeps coming up as euro :(

I couldn't get Nord surfshark or ipvanish to work for me but the Turkey VPN worked for me had to use bluestacks I had no VPN on creating AC so set up free then put on VPN set it to turkey. Then paid via Google pay with my turkey AC in bluestacks.

Nice one, thanks for the help. Got it sorted in the end (I think), went as far as paying in euro via app, and then it gave me the option to change the country in the actual app.

It's an emulator for android on a PC. Very handy for this kind of thing. You can also use an old phone and just have your "Turkish" account on the phone along with a VPN.

Any advice appreciated, I can't seem to find an option to pay with Google or via play store. I have the vpn on and have play store country as turkey and I'm getting the options for Turkish prices but only option is to be pay by card and that gets blocked. I managed to do it for disney plus but can't seem to get Spotify sorted

That happened to me on my reg phone.

I had to dig out my old phone that only has the turkey Gmail account on it and the Google pay option appeared. Even allowed me use an old Irish Spotify account (my reg email address) and pay through Turkish google account.

Problem now is that I've Spotify, tidal, Deezer and YouTube music subs which is overkill.

Managed to get this working after lots of trial & error.

Same phone as use daily. Set up new user with new Google account.

Not sure how I eventually got it but make sure your Google wallet is set to your new account & Google play store too. I opened Spotify from playstore, looked on subscriptions as well & eventually it gave me option for using Google pay.

Yep, old phone completely factory reset then rebooted and only added the Turkish playtore account but still no option for google pay, it is driving me a little crazy. I'll try again later but might have to look at a turkish prepaid mastercard

It looks like you’re trying to join Premium Family from a different country. Premium Family is only available for family members that live together. Try again when you’re at the same address.

I have the VPN on while accepting the invite, and the country set to Turkey in the invitees page, but it won't take the address at all. The address I am entering is the Irish address associated with the main account.

Any ideas?

I would set everyone's address as embassy in Turkey or equivalent

Don't use chrome I used duck duck go browser put VPN on and set country's to turkey first before inviting.

Simple solution - go to the relevant Spotify account(spotify.com) on a web browser and check what country is selected. If it's Türkiye, you're good to go. If it's Australia or another country, connect to a VPN server in Türkiye, then refresh the page, click the dropdown and change it to Türkiye. Accept the invite again and it should work. You can turn off VPN after this.

this worked for me. One thing I would say address needs to be identical, I got an error a couple of times then changed the original address to the Eircode and used that for the rest and it worked

Yes Irish address but the Spofity account needs to be set to Turkey and I had VPN turned on when accepting the invite
